So many of us are not living in the present moment. But we are living in the future, thinking:

Everything will change when….
My life will begin when…
I’ll be able to do that when…

We all know the fallacy of this intellectually. And yet, it’s easy to convince yourself that your situation is different. It’s easy to deny this truth. You think,”But I really am having a difficult time right now. I really can’t do xxxx right now. Things really will change when…”

I recently had a big epiphany about this. I fell into this trap too. I was planning a move and really believed that so much would become simpler when I finally moved. I believed it would be easier to accomplish all my goals after the move. The move itself was the means to the end for me, to find a resting place to finally do all the things I planned. I put some things in my life on hold to focus on the move.

And Life true to form, of course, surprised me. There is a law of the counterintuitive prevailing. Here are some examples:

You can’t find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, because the rainbow never ends
You can never determine the exact point of an electron in an atom, because as soon as you try to look, you alter its position
The only way to let go of fear is to embrace it rather than resist it
You must give up attachment in order to receive what you desire

And I could go on and on. It’s true that you reach a new level when you achieve a goal, a new vibration. But achieving a goal may or may not make your life any easier or of better quality.

I intended for my move to make my life easier, but I have found that the move has brought with it, it’s own challenges. In some ways, things are harder. I have arrived at my destination and found that I have only exchanged some previous limitations for new ones. I realize now that all goals can be acheived in any state. There is nothing to wait for. While it is true that my life in the past few months has been building up to this significant moment, I am more aware completely of how all of it counts, even the “waiting”, even the imperfection. The time is NOW.

On the other hand, making such a big change, DOES make a difference. I never could have imagined my new perspectives without experiencing them. All of my senses are heightened, because of the change and the move. I notice things in my old house in detail, that I never noticed before. My perspective shifts…

Change is powerful. It is a great catalyst for moving forward and manifesting the life you desire. This is definately true. My greatest lesson, however, is that change is happening all the time, even when you can’t see it. Trust that it is happening. And don’t put anything on hold. Always keep moving forward, dreaming your dreams. There is no better time than now to make them come true.
