Last week, I sent out a survey to find out more about you and how I can best be of service here at my blog and through Coaching. I thought I would share the results with you here and some helpful tips 🙂

Answers varied, but the overall theme seemed to be about money.  The biggest challenge listed was a need for more money, and it was also the biggest worry.

You are most proud of your work, but in general it seems like work fulfillment is not leading to *enough* money.

Some people said they are most excited about a career shift, whether it’s starting a business, project, or new job, while others are feeling stuck in their careers.

Struggle seemed to be the basic theme that most of you wish would just go away.

Altogether, you want more money, love, and vacation time.

I thought it was interesting that many people were somewhat vague in what they thought would help them get more of what they want…

You are very motivated, listing a number from 5-10 indicating how motivated you are to get what you want (7 was the most common number).

As far as effort goes, people are willing to spend time, a significant amount of money, or were unsure how much they would spend to get what they want.

So here’s what I’m getting overall…

You are proud of your work, but desiring to get more money for it. You are very motivated to find a way to make more money–even willing to spend money to learn how. But you aren’t really sure what steps you need to take to get there.

Some people indicated that they wanted to make better use of their time, but I still feel like this solution can be more crystal clear.

What if you knew exactly the action you needed to take to get you the results you want?

Do you think it would be easier and more effortless?

Here are 3 Tips I’d like to share, based on these results:

1)    Experience Pleasure Anyway

Just a reminder–ultimately, we want more money so we can have a better experience.  You really don’t need money to experience pleasure, though.  It’s a conscious choice.

I know it’s hard to think like this when you’re struggling to get by, but if you suddenly had all the money you want, at some point you would have an unpleasant moment. You would need to make an internal shift that has nothing to do with how much money you have. Remember that you can make that shift now and find a way to choose pleasure and peace regardless of how much money you have in the moment.

Of course, you can do this and still want more money.  So here’s some ideas for that…

2)    Develop Multiple Streams of Income

It’s my personal belief that everyone should have an on line business. Everyone. Even if you already have a job and love it. So if you haven’t considered this before, this is your nudge .

For the first time in human history (because of the Internet), you can share your talents with people all over the world at a low cost and potentially make money while you sleep.

Maybe by blogging about something important to you (and advertising on your blog), sharing music, art, photographs, consulting services, crafts—there really is no limit to what you can do. And it’s so important to have multiple streams of income.

Imagine if every person in the world was taught how to share their unique gift/interest on line with people all over the world and make extra money while sleeping, relaxing, or working on another project. That would be an amazing world!

3)    Have a Clear Solution

Sometimes it’s a lot easier to define the problem than it is to define the solution.  This survey indicated to me that not having enough money is clearly the problem, but a lot of people aren’t sure what to do about it. Identifying the problem is half the battle, but finding the best solution can be a challenge.

The best solution is going to vary for each person and situation.  The bottom line is I think it’s important to have a clear visual picture of what needs to be done to get you what you want. That way you can see yourself doing the thing you need to do and plan to do it.

One suggestion I can make is to use the 80/20 Rule which states that 20% of your actions manifest 80% of your results. So if you take the time to think about what you can do to get what you want and make a list, put a star next to the actions that are most likely to make you money quickly and with minimum effort.

That being said, this got me thinking about myself and what I want in my life. I had to ask myself: What is my clear solution for getting more of what I want?

I discovered that while I have goals and “action steps” I’m taking towards them, I feel that the most powerful thing I can do is follow my intuition. I want to share this with you, because it just might be the answer for you too.

This might sound vague also, but in practice this means making it a habit to check in with myself and see how each decision I make makes me feel.  I believe that if I really listen to myself, I will make choices that lead me closer to what I really want and away from “shoulds.” It’s easy to get caught up in “shoulds,” and it most likely is not the path to what we really desire.

There needs to be space to try something irrational or to follow a whispering desire that I don’t completely understand. I allow myself to be surprised at the outcome.

I believe intuition can open you to new possibilities and lead you to a solution you would never consider otherwise. And yes, I believe consistently following your intuition can possibly lead to more money.

I want to give a BIG Thank You and hug to everyone who helped me out by taking the survey. Thank you for sharing with me and giving me an idea of how I can better serve you! I will definitely be focusing more on ways I can better meet your needs in future articles, books, and programs.

Leave a comment if you can relate to the survey results and you if you have any crystal clear tips for how to get more money.
